Leaving

I am told peace-loving people somewhere far away
are competing in rocket science.
Surely there will soon be peace.

And when the stones are swimming,
the leaves will sink.

The peace of the night.

Well here's to floating stones (apart from pumice) and sinking leaves!

The rocks will melt in the sun before the rockets cease for ever, I fear. As a species we have a fatal combination: too clever and too stupid at the same time. Forgive my pontificating. I am too stupid to desist.

Claude,
... at least something else will be 'born'. And not seldom it looks like what has died, before.

Don QuiScottie,
unlike not many years ago meanwhile I would probably not anymore say that the only 'ism' I'd build a temple for, is the optimism.

So, once again we are of the same opinion. The only difference: You are able to put it much better than I. Thank you.
