Last weekend Mark rhapsodised over Yulianna Avdeeva: "On Shostakovich piano sonata no.1, honestly she is super human!!!"
Voilà, Mark, here she is (not only) for you ... ;-)
Yulianna Avdeeva *3 July 1985
Dmitri Shostakovich (25 September 1906 – 9 August 1975)
Well put Sean, how can you commit a monster of a piece like that to memory, and play it with ease.
ReplyDeleteThe piece itself is not a treat for my ears, but how it is played. Fascinating. Thanks again for the tip, Mark.
DeleteThank you.
ReplyDelete;-)
DeleteUna genialitat.
ReplyDeleteMoltes gràcies!
Bon diumenge, Sean.
Me alegro de que te haya gustado, Paula.
DeleteAferradetes.
Wow. As you say, the piece itself is not to everyone's liking, but her playing is phenomenal.
ReplyDeleteThank you, Mimi.
DeleteShe could one day become a worthy successor to Martha Argerich.
Definitely not mainstream. Music to felt rather than heard. It reminds me of crazy highland weather but it could take you on your own journey. As for the pianist - its amazing what a 'human being' is capable of.
ReplyDeleteHa ha, Mark, why going on my own journey, when I can share crazy highland weather with you?
