Thistle feast

Most two-legged neighbours don't like thistles in their gardens, unaware that they are in the minority ...

... as the buzzing and humming inhabitants of Seanhenge prove.

They love thistles, especially these globe thistles (Echinops).

  1. My Bigger Girl once lived in an apartment where a thistle grew in a pot on the little patio. It hadn't been purposely planted, but she left it to see what would happen.

It grew huge and she spent all of spring and summer watching all the various bugs and creatures make use of it. They are apparently much prized by almost everything except people.

    1. Lovely. Thanks for that, Mimi.
Well, at least the Scots appreciate the thistle. ;-)
