Hi Sean, Thanks for posting. Little wonder Hvorostovsky pipped none other than Bryn Terfel at the 1989 Singer of the World contests in Cardiff. Since then their musical paths have diverged. What we can enjoy are those silken soft tones evident in the beginning of this piece and his brilliant tops when handling the Verdi operatic ladder. Terfel on the other hand has moved more along the path to a Wagnerian richness. What a singer!!
