Beers & Books LXXXIII – Raymond Carver

Woke up this morning with a terrific urge
to lie in bed all day and read.

  1. I woke up this morning with a terrific urge to lie in bed all day and not read.

    1. I have been celebrating Saint Johnstone's glorious League Cup and Scottish Cup double with too much of the Trappist ales my son delivered unto me on a Sunday visit. A few bottles left too, so having started I may as well finish... Never a good thing to leave a task not done.

    2. It must have been a fine feeling, after a few Trappist ales to not only see one Hibee scarf at half-mast, but at least two.

  2. I got up (as usual far too early) this morning. When the essential tasks are done I have every intention of going back to bed. Reading and hopefully sleeping.

    1. What are the essential tasks? Make coffee and eat breakfast? :)

    2. Give the cat his medication. Deal with his kitty litter. Take my own medication and, if nausea permits, have a little breakfast.

    3. Ah... may the medication medicate, for you and Jazz, and maybe better medication might arrive some day. I am temporarily, hopefully, on some medication too, but I take it in bed then have another snooze until the writing work deadlines beckon.

  3. I've been on the North coast of Scotland recently and on the occasional rainy day I had the urge to put my feet up and read John O'Farrel's 'Utterly impartial history of Britain'.

  4. Good evening, dear Sean...? You seem so absent lately?
I hope my worries are unnecessary...
