Dahlia delight

Their bulbs
overwinter in cellar
to delight our eyes
in summer
in many shapes
and colours
until they start fading away
and their bulbs ...

"My" Rowan

A birthday present twenty years ago ...

"my" dear Rowan grew and grew ...
and its berries taste good to me and our feathered friends.

Coffeetime with young García Márquez

The "Giraffe aus Barranquilla"
comprises 82 journalistic works by García Márquez
written between 1948 and 1952.
"La Girafa" was the title of a column
that the then 22-year-old regularly wrote
for the Colombian daily newspaper "El Heraldo".
Many of the short glosses and literary sketches,
in which he processed everyday experiences,
paved the way for his later work.

Laughing Lhursday*

The artist's commission:
Paint within 3 minutes
Don Quijote on Rocinante and Sancho Panza on his donkey
approaching a windmill.
And voilà!
As an encore, the artist even added a scorching sun over La Mancha,
or is it a dust-wreathed herd of mutton? ...

* [For first time visitors]:

Typo in the title?
Nah. It's just that I would not
let a tiny T spoil an avantgardistic alliteration.

Two things are certain:
Humanity will vanish.
Nature will prevail.

Coffee time with Antonio Muñoz Molina

The Polish Rider (El jenite polaco) I re-read a few days ago.
This afternoon "The Collected Stories of Katherine Mansfield
enriched my coffeetime. ... Well, not all, but two of them. ;-)
