[. . .] And I need the phone. The phone? Yes. To call you in the night. Oh, mother, but you are in hospital. Not at home? No. In hospital. For a couple of days. In H.? No, in G. Will sister Gabi come tomorrow morning? . . . Oh, sure. I think she will soon come again. That's good.[. . .]
Within two days getting totally confused, demented even? How do they do it in hospitals?
Update: In early morning she died. 25.07.1924 - 21.10.2013 May she rest in peace.
Only this morning I found a crumpled sheet of paper on which I had spontaneously written while waiting for a doctor to come, in the emergency department: Far away her thoughts. (In another dimension.) Already in other spheres? Oh, not to wake up again!
Patiently waiting. At the ceiling: The big black bird. (patiently waiting)
How hard it has been for her, and all of you, to witness, in the last few years, your mother's weakness and her increasing loss for self care. May she rest in peace, and may your memories of the cheerful, active hours of her past keep her alive in all your loving hearts.
Oh, I'm so sorry, Sean.
ReplyDeleteBlessings to you and your family. x
Thank you, Ashley. She did not hear the Big Black Bird coming, so soundless it flew. :)
DeleteI remember that post without following the link.
DeleteI thought you would. The link's rather for those reading my reply and not knowing what I am refering to.
DeleteI'm sorry to read this sad news too, Sean. It's very hard to lose a parent.

ReplyDeleteThank you, Claude. How lovely to imagine she's re-united with her 'one and only', after all. :)
DeleteI am so sorry to hear this news. Difficult times and so many thoughts and emotions.
ReplyDeleteShe is resting in peace now and those left behind in time will find their peace too.
Thinking of you and your family xx
