I know he is your favourite composer, and thus I thought of you when posting this on the occasion of his 225th birthday.
The German Wikipedia tells since 1982 there have been seven Fierrabras-productions, amongst them one with Claudio Abbado (Theater an der Wien, 1988), and one with Peter Stein (Salzburg Festival, 2014). Latest Alfonso and Estrella-production: Vienna Festival 1997 (Nikolaus Hernoncourt/JürgenFlimm); this production was taken over in Zurich in 2001.
Well it was sunday morning music to me but vintage Schubert well played. I don't know what it is about his music that touches the heart, maybe the intervals.
