  2. There are no words. May we each do what we can to make our corner of the world better.

    1. You do it, Sue does it and many others do it. It is probably the only thing that can be tried with some chance of success.

  3. The Solstice Season again Sean. Our wishes mean nothing to the planet and the sun.

    1. Ah, thanks for a sign of life, Andrew.
By the way, I sent an email last Wednesday, not to the planet or the sun, but to you, wishing Lady Margaret and you a happy winter solstice. The peace of the night.

    2. The email did not arrive in it's usual place. Odd. I am very busy, fruitfully and wordly, but very silent, online-socially, these days. But andrew.scott(at)cantab.net is the place to contact me and perhaps even attempt to get me to communicate. There are even a few recent photos here, http://andrewrscott.blogspot.com/ but no comment facility. Occasional photos may continue. Good wishes.

    3. But I note awful apostrophes do still insert themselves, sneakily?

    4. Ah, herewith the address stopped to exist in my address list.
Re awful apostrophes: Its no problem, isnt it? ;-)

    5. I know a fellow called The Don of QuiScottie who used to angrily smite such things as aberrant apostrophical abominations (et al), but these days he has rather laid down his lance and picked up bottles of Trappist Ales instead, having mellowed and grown silent, while often to be found gazing at his lady (see, for example, the view from Tobermory on scrolling down aforementioned blog site...) but now I have said faaarrrrr too much for one day. Goodnight.

    6. In case you happen to see him and have the opportunity to say ten words before thousands of syllables ceaselessly escape the enclosure of his teeth, tell him, please: Seanso and his donkey are always ready for new adventures.
But now, as I settle in with a pint of Guinness, a drop of Highland Park and James Lesley Mitchell's aka Lewis Grassic Gibbon's "Sunset Song", I raise my glass and say, "Sláinte!"

  4. Peace on earth, unfortunatley I don't think it's possible. I'd be happy if I'm wrong but each year that flies by, peace is lacking along with respect.

    1. Ah, Bill, I have been posting this "Christmas idyll" since 2009. And what may look like my wish is just a sarcastically meant Bible quote.
