Every Year Again
* * For the past twelve years I have been posting this very "Christmas"-photo "every year again". The accompanying texts: different.
Nothing has changed for the better. Callousness, egoism, greed, hypocrisy and – above all – stupidity are obviously increasing at the same speed as (wo)mankind is proliferating.
In this sense: Merry Christmas.
Enjoy life as long as you can.
And don't feel guilty!
Humbleness is for the others, eh?!

Merry Christmas
Same photo as last year, as the year before, as ten years ago. Nothing seems to change, hm? Merry Christmas, then, Goodwill to all people and Peace on Earth. |

Typo in the title?
Nah.
It's just that I would not let a tiny T spoil an avantgardistic alliteration.

Whistleblower and Liar
We need to empower federal employees as watchdogs of wrongdoing and partners in performance. Barack Obama will strengthen whistleblower laws to protect federal workers who expose waste, fraud, and abuse of authority in government.

Brave Defenders of Democracy
Taqiyya ... err ... Tayyip Erdoğan's pride: Five brave defender of democracy risking their lives against a heavily armed terrorist. |
See the joy in this brave civil policeman's face? |
And here another police hero defending democracy against a "Terror-Lady in Red" |
Okay, that's Turkey. Of course, such things could not happen in the most wonderful of all democracies in this universe and those yet to discover, could they?
Oops. Isn't that Lt John Pike defending the USA against a whole bunch of terrorists? |
I get the feeling as if only recently there was a man saying: "When I see a policeman with a club beating a man on the ground, I don't have to ask whose side I'm on."
Now, Lt. Pike and his brave Turkish comrades – they all definitely being beacons of intelligence – will teach this George Orwell, once they have caught him, I bet.

Death still a master from Germany II
Well, so much for the chronicler's duty.Germany doubled the amount of its arms it sold abroad in 2004-2009, compared to that exported during the previous five-year period, according to a report by the Stockholm International Peace Research Institute (SIPRI) released Monday.
Germany is the world's third leading exporter of conventional weaponry.

... and deliver us from hypocrisy
World leaders convened at the FAO Headquarters for the World Summit on Food Security today unanimously adopted a declaration pledging renewed commitment to eradicate hunger from the face of the earth sustainably and at the earliest date.Addressing the Pope, I conclude:
The article ends:
Addressing FAO's Member States in all their official languages, the Pope concluded: "God bless your efforts to ensure that all people are given their daily bread."
