Indeed, Sue, it is always reading time. Their grandfather's library containing a few thousand books, their mother running the local bookshop gives cause to hope the tradition will be continued.
"Precious" is the right word, Mark. Of course, TV has its own fascination – here I confess that I, myself, have become a fan of "Shaun the sheep" ;-) –, but they enjoy all advantages of a life in a village and if during the day there was no reading time vis-à-vis at their grandparents, at least no day ends without a good night story.
It is always reading time. My love of it is one of the very best gifts that my parents gave me - and how lovely to see this tradition continued.
