Wolfram is back

Just in time for the start of the month, Wichtel Wolfram is back in No. 10.
He would even have moved in a night earlier, but unfortunately, as he wrote, he was unable to install his door, let alone make himself comfortable, as everything was clogged with toys, which he asked to be cleared away by the next evening.
Which of course happened immediately.

And so - "Hooray, hooray!" – Wolfram is back, writes that he is so pleased to be allowed by his boss to spend the pre-Christmas period with the same lovely family as last year, but asks for indulgence that everything still looks very much like a construction site. "I do suddenly feel very exhausted from all the lugging around and have to treat my self to a nap first."
However, he had already unwrapped a small gift – a Christmas calendar to listen to, on which a story is unlocked every day until 24 December.

  1. Naps are good. Some days naps are essential.

    1. Just yesterday I read that penguins take around 10,000 four-second naps a day for fear of their predators, and thus get twelve hours of sleep.

We still have all these types of calendars here too. However, the "Tonies" that I mentioned in my reply to Bill below are small figures that tell stories when placed on a "Tonie box"; a kind of audio book for children.

  3. I had my nap today and am energized now. :) We used to have Advent calendars when my daughter was young, she loved them. Enjoy the day and the festive season.

    1. Thank you, Bill. Same for you and Shari.
We do, of course, still have the "good old" calendars, plus 'nowayears' ;-) many self-made.
The one I mentioned above is different, though. And I read that meanwhile Toniesare being sold in the UK and Ireland, too.

  4. It's been so long since we've had an Advent calendar, I do miss them. It's just not practical, no children here to enjoy them, and I'm so busy and out of the house so much.

I do hope you are really enjoying the season.

    1. Ah, Mimi, Wolfram visiting is much more interesting than any calendar could be.
And thank you for your kind wishes. May you and the yours enjoy the season, too.

    1. A little bit of magic, Lady Pipistrello?!
Daily correspondence, questions, tasks, reciprocal gifts and so on and so forth ... I reckon in no time it will be Christmas.
