Today ‘my’ beloved swallows arrived and have moved into their nest above my study. How wonderful! |
And since four swallow families have their summer quarters around our house , ... |
and raise their offspring here ... |
... at the end of August there will be plenty of flying activity over Seanhenge Hopefully |
WONDERFUL.
ReplyDeleteA wonder, indeed, Sue.
DeleteIt is hard to imagine they return from winter quarters a thousand or two thousand kilometres away to spend the summer under this very roof in a small village ...
Se'm queden els ulls com a plats, veient aquesta meravella.
ReplyDeletePel que dius, ben aviat tindràs més familia. ;-)
Aferradetes, Sean.
As I wrote above to Sue: It's mindboggling to imagine they or their children always return to the same nest.
DeleteYes, if they find enough insects to feed their nestlings, there will grow quite a big family until August.
Aferradetes, Paula.
Seanhenge is well blessed!
ReplyDeleteIt may sound exaggerated, Mark, but I really do get excited like a little kid every year when my beloved swallows return.
DeleteI understand completely - I have known to be in tears when seeing the first Brimstone of Spring!
ReplyDeleteI can imagine a few "cool" people who'd call us wimps. ;-))
DeleteWelcome home, Swallows! You've picked a perfect person around whom to nest.
ReplyDeleteThat's nice of you to say, Mimi.
DeleteUnfortunately, I have had to observe for some years now that it is becoming increasingly difficult for our guests to raise their offspring.
One of the reasons for this are robot mowers and gravel gardens in the neighbourhood. As Einstein once said. Only stupidity knows no bounds.
Han trobat una bona companyia per passar el bon temps !.
ReplyDeletePerò no els hi donis cervesa per celebrar-ho!! :D
Salut i bon Maig !.
Swallows are wonderful guests, Artur. Never would they drink my beer. ;-)
DeleteMay you enjoy a wonderful May.
