Friday is Skyday

Fireface
I felt reminded of Robert Frost:'s "Fire and Ice" (1920)

Some say the world will end in fire,
Some say in ice.
From what I’ve tasted of desire
I hold with those who favour fire.
But if it had to perish twice,
I think I know enough of hate
To know that for destruction ice
Is also great
And would suffice.

  1. Beautiful but frightening sky!

One of the first English poems I understood completely when I was learning the language by immersion in my mid-thirties. I had it on my walls for years. Then I decided that the world will end with non-caring one way or another. People will simply have no feeling of love or hate. Just drowning in a sea of inept, imbecilic TV viewing.

  2. It's a beautiful image, almost like a curtain being pulled back on some celestial stage.

We inhabit that space between extremes.

    1. Thank you, Susan. The photo was taken seconds before entering a supermarket. When ten minutes later returning to the car it was raining.
      So much for extremes. :)
