Leffe blonde...She doesn't look blonde. The connection must be the author and beer from Belgium. Leffe Brune would have fitted the cover image too (always the critic, me...). Anyway Leffe Blonde and Leffe Brune both get my approval although this evening it's Innis & Gunn Original, 330ml, to be followed by their Blood Red Sky, 330ml - I am becoming somewhat of an I&G devotee. There are worse habits, I suppose.
Ah, Andrew, Leffe Brune I left for Charles de Coster and 'La Légende d'Ulenspiegel'. As for this evening, for a start I had a San Miguel (to be posted with a book of Miguel Delibes), 0,33l, which right now is followed by an Estrella, 0,33l (to be posted with Mercé Rodoreda's La Plaça del Diamant, one English title of which is The Time of the Doves. Sláinte!

Both fine beers. I have no idea about the books.
ReplyDeleteThe Brune is a tad too heavy for my taste. I just drank it for the sake of Ulenspiegel and Lamme Goedzak . ;-)
DeleteBeer cannot be too heavy for my taste, the very concept is inconceivable to me, provided the drinking is done slowly, like a wine.
DeleteI drank the Brune very slowly, I can tell you. Even slower than any wine. And I felt relieved when it was done.
DeleteI didn't much like Leffe Rouge though.
