  1. My ignorance is on display here. This is an author with whom I am not familiar - despite being fascinated by Turkey (and envying my partners trips to Turkey and his exposure to that rich, confusing and complicated land and culture). I will explore further. Thank you. And drat you - I really don't need any more booky temptation.

  2. Ha ha, I shall put a "booky" spell on you!
"Rich, confusing and complicated land and culture" is spot on. As long as Turkey does have writers like Orhan Pamuk and
Zülfü Livaneli, there is hope. Hopefully.

    1. No booky spell required. I am an unashamed bookaholic. At the moment I am reading among other things) From the Land of Green Ghosts A Burmese Odyssey by Pascal Khoo Thwe. And having to stop and think about it often.

    2. Thinking alone of this year's books you read I am pretty sure you do not need a spell.
It's a wounderful realm, the realm of letters.
