Milva (17 July 1939 – 23 April 2021)
Throaty, beautiful and previously unknown to me. Thank you.
'Throaty' – I like that. Milva was/is very popular, especially in Italy, Germany and France. I was lucky once – I think it was 1982 – to hear her interpreting songs of Brecht/Weill and of Theodorakis. What a voice.
Wow. Where to start? From the top I suppose... the hair, the face, the voice, well, the everything. Quite a performance, and also previously unknown to me,
Glad you enjoyed, Andrew. Entirely unknown she isn't to you, though. Four years ago, having heard her singing "Mack the Knife' your comment was: "Jings." And as once you obviously ;-) missed it, in a minute I shall post one of her great performances again. Enjoy!
Ah, yet still, unknown to the me of today, until today, as my brain had forgotten her (hard to believe but true). Are we not a different being each day?
But the me of this morning thinks that the me of yesterday was just being silly... I am much more sensible today, and even brave enough for a... :)
