Once again I feel relieved
that Fortune favours fools,
or as a German saying goes,
"Die dümmsten Bauern
ernten die größten Kartoffeln."
/
"The dumbest farmers
harvest the biggest potatoes".Sometimes a saying
can be a great comfort.
* [For first time visitors]:
Typo in the title?
Nah.
It's just that
I would not let a tiny T spoil an avantgardistic alliteration.
Fortune has certainly favoured me. More than once.
ReplyDeleteIn this very case it favoured the right person, for a change.
DeleteYou would have to be very carful trying to peel the smallest potato :-)
ReplyDeleteThis does not lack of correctness, Mylady. ;-)
DeleteI love potatoes and that one looks very tiny, enough for a wee bird. :)
ReplyDeleteWhile I was digging Lady C. was delighted to collect all the big spuds; had I not intervened she would have spurned (?) all those little ones proving my genius.
DeleteAt the end there were enough for a nice meal: Sesame lightly roasted without fat, some butter added, the tiny potatoes tossed and served with herbed curd cheese and some freshly picked tomatoes and salad.
Well, they have to start growing at some size in order to eventually get bigger.
ReplyDeletePlease see above, my reply to Bill. ;-)
Aferradetes, Sean.
Ah, the little ones are delicious. No need to peel them. ;-)
DeleteJust look above for the recipe I mentioned to Bill.
