Countrywide, here, too, every year fewer birds are counted; sparrows inclusive. We do notice that, too. However, in one cherry laurel alone I suppose about 40 sparrows having their habitat, here. Unfortunately there are young cats in the neighbourhood who are chasing. Often successfully.
I envy you your sparrows. Over the last couple of years ours have almost disapeared. Thanks for sharing their visits to you.

We have a family of sparrows in our garden. They are far to quick to allow me to photograph them :-)
