Enough

The older I get, the less time I have to be diplomatic, which is why I'm not ill-disposed to (at least largely) put an end to blogging at the end of this month.
Time to write! Without scissors in head.
To put it with Seamus Heaney:
Between my finger and my thumb
The squat pen rests. ...

  1. If you do make that choice, know you will be missed.

    1. Kind of you to write so, Mimi. Thank you.
The above writing was primarily intended for me. As a reminder to finally focus seriously on what has always been important to me.

  2. Yours is a very good reason to set aside blogging, to create some space for the proper stuff. Your presence around these parts will still be sorely missed, but there's always email and the anticipation of something tangible between two bound covers!

    1. Thank you for your kindness, Lady Pipistrello. At a certain point, I might even feel tempted to ask for your opinion.

  3. Have you considered maybe weekly or even monthly? Surely wont take up that much time. Always looked forward to b and b. (beers and books just to clarify 😄)

    1. As I wrote to Mimi, the above writing was primarily intended for me. Yes, I think once a week should be o.k., now and then perhaps even thrice a week. ;-)
As you meanwhile might know, like everything else, surprise is part of Omnium.

;-) / Like probably everyone else, I am basically lazy, lazy, always grateful to be distracted from the essentials. But once I start, I don't stop until I've done the best I can. The fate of a perfectionist ;-)

  5. If you decide to stop, I will miss you and your thoughts.

I too seem to have slowed down on my blog...

    1. Sixteen years are quite a long time, eh? What lovely nights we had, either here or at Jams's. After his death, I think I kept blogging for Claude. And well, yes, afterwards to not lose contact to those who without ever meeting I consider friends.
Blogging has certainly become different from ten years ago.
We shall keep in contact, anyway, dear CherryPie. ... Well, at least as long as the sky does not collapse upon me. ;.)
