Update:
The photo shows about ten per cent of my exquisite little library.
On the left shelf from top to bottom. 1+2: French literature; Irish literature below.
Centre shelf: 1+2: Russian authors; 3-5 (up to the owls): Italian authors; 6: South American literature.
Right shelf: 1+2: African and Asian literature; 3: Icelandic and Scandinavian literature (Faroe Islands, Norwegians, Swedes, Finns, Danes; 3+4: Catalan, Portuguese and Spanish literature. 5. continuation of Latin American authors, plus (not in the image) Iranian authors.
Lovely. A house is not a home without books. And the more the merrier.
ReplyDeleteEmphasis on "the more the merrier". ;-)
DeleteThats why 'beer and books' is infinite!
ReplyDeleteHm, not infinite, and I don't think there once will be Beers & Books 4,900. ;-)
DeleteAviat hauràs de sortir tu de casa! ;-)
ReplyDeleteTambé pots obrir una altra ala de la casa que sigui només biblioteca.💡😊
Aferradetes, Sean.
I'm trying to imagine moving again with around 4000 books.
DeleteFact is that the books are spread over four rooms and that they are on some shelves in the second row - in other words ‘invisible’.
Aferradetes, Paula.
És fantàstic allò que veus quan et gires...
ReplyDeletePotser el problema serà al moment que compris un altre llibre, 😂.
Però vaja, aquest és unvell problema conegut per tots els grans lectors com tu.
Una abraçada, Sean.
In fact, some books currently aren't shelved the way I'd like them to be. But as long as I know where each book can be found ... ;-)
DeleteNevertheless, I do think about reorganising them from time to time.
Abraçades, Carme.
Wow. I don't blame you for wanting and keeping your own library. I can't imagine living in a house with no books.
ReplyDeleteIt may have been (partly) unfair to the hosts in question, but whenever I asked myself after a visit why I hadn't really felt comfortable, even though they had been very nice to me, the answer was: There had no books been seen.
DeleteHi Sean - ten percent ??? Mon Dieu ... and then your comment 'no books to be seen' ... too terrible to consider. Your ten percent - I'm overwhelmed thinking about them, and I daren't look - but I wouldn't understand, anyway ... cheers Hilary
ReplyDelete... ;-) Of course, you'd understand. Be sure.
