  1. Hi Sean,
What a fabulous presentation by Bernstein and the Vienna Philharmonic Orchestra and the choir. I especially enjoyed the exquisite velvet tones of contralto Christa Ludwig. Mahler is such an evocative composer one can never get bored. Arrrhh Vienna – city of dreams, is that a concert that took place there? It brings back fond memories of our brief visit where we attended a memorable concert of Viennese romantic arias, duets and of course those grand waltzes of Strauss. Remarkably performed in the same original building as before so long ago as Strauss mania took hold to take Europe by storm.

    1. Hi Lindsay,
you put it better than I could. Thank you.
I could not verify but it is very likely the concert took place in Vienna, 1973.
Time to revisit the 'city of dreams', eh?

    1. I tried to find something for you, and if not exactly what I was looking for, I hope I have found something for New Year's Day. :)
