Strange, to wander in the fog!
Alone each bush and stone,
No tree does see the other,
Each is alone.

  1. Fog is one of my favourite things. Magical and mystical.
    And on some levels I completely agree - we are all alone. And sometimes don't know ourselves well either.

    1. Magical and mystical sounds fine.
      And yes, each is alone.
      Therefore (third stanza):
      Verily, no one is wise
      Who does not know the dark
      Which inescapably and quietly
      From everyone him separates.

      And yes, sometimes "something" seems to separate "us" from "ourselves".
