Nothing against excellent novels. For decades I prefered to read short stories to end a day, though, and in anthologies to meet authors I might otherwise not have come to know.
I read and studied many a short story back in the day, i wonder how many of these i would recognize.

Recognize some names from books long ago. I don't read too many short stories these days.
