Herewith the end of Omnium

is declared postsponed ...

Five years ought to be more than enough, however as I did neither take the time trying to find proper words to explain the Why, and  – more important – to thank all those I do not wish to wish farewell ... I decided to postpone the end ...

... until ... next year.

This might turn out to have been no wise decision. Who knows? I might not find time to say bye-bye before moving to my last dwelling six feet under.

I do know, though, that it is a good feeling to have met a few people.
Thank you!

Laughing gas needed?

Nah!  See?

What Omnium needs

oxygen – air supplying device – laughing gas.

Obviously.

Monochrome Monday

Metamorphosis Kafka-esque a

This morning, as I was waking up
from sweet dreams,
I discovered that in my bed
I had been changed into a tiny insect
and now was sitting on my glasses
reading Kafka's Verwandlung:

One morning, as Gregor Samsa was waking up
from anxious dreams, he discovered
that in his bed he had been changed
into a monstrous verminous bug.
He lay on his armour-hard back and saw,
as he lifted his head up a little,
his brown, arched abdomen divided up
into rigid bow-like sections.
From this height the blanket, just about ready
to slide off c
ompletely, could hardly stay in place.
His numerous legs, pitifully thin in comparison
to the rest of his circumference,
flickered helplessly before his eyes.
“What’s happened to me,” he thought.
It was no dream.

Aristotle's Wisdom*

Recently, CherryPie as her Thought of the Week posted what is said to be a quote of Aristotle (384-322 BCE), i.e Happiness depends upon ourselves, and all commenters seemed to be delighted.

Which is why I  wrote:
"Happiness depends upon yourself", laughed the rapist, and setting fire he added, "and upon your connection with your maker, ha ha ha ..."

Does everyone think, the victim of such a bastard would consider Aristotle a wise man?

Discuss, if there is anything to discuss.

* The title could also have been ... Aristotle's Wisdom and Kant's Advice or Have courage to use your own reason.

Not monochrome

Sometimes colours make it easier
to interpret sky's mood, hm?

Swarming stupidity

Typing swarm intelligence after 0,13 seconds I got told there are 1,570.000 entries.

Afterwards, I hesitated to type swarm idiocy.

The peace of the night.

Flying Dead Flies

There have so far about 1.000 human disease genes been found.
77 % of those have been found in drosophila melanogaster, too.
Following the 'logic' of 'intelligently designed primates'
humans are 77% fly.
... And now let us not start speaking about bicycles.

C(h)ara mo chroidhe

About 18 months ago a niece,
going to move from here to there

asked if we knew someone ...
Ha! Superficial girl.
And now to something completely different:
I like cats;
especially when they do not live with me.
Which is why I said:
Alright, we shall give your cat a home.
Ah, how scrubby and shabby the little creature was.
She did not know what freedom means.
Meanwhile she does.
And therefore only sometimes comes
to eat and take a rest.
Her early name was Snowflake
I call her
C(h)ara [mo chroidhe] / [Friend [of my heart].
Imagine:
I do still think people
accepting animals in their homes
are stupid.
The peace of the night.

Now spring has arrived

Lady's smock

35 years ago we could walk along meadows
of cuckoo flowers alias lady's smock
alias
Cardamine pratensis and
cowslip alias
Primula veris ;
for the past thirty years we could not walk along ...

the more glad I was to detect about five square metres
with lady's smock these days.

Certainly evidence for that
Seanhenge is one of the places
where nature loves to ... survive.

Lounging

I love idleness so much and so dearly,
that I have hardly the heart
to say a word against it ...

Friday is Skyday

Morning, looking East.
Evening, looking West.
Well, not today's evening.
The 19th it was;
the 100th anniversary of my mother's birth. :)

But a moment

Taking this photo yesterday evening
minutes after having finished a bread-earning project
and thus having still a nice portion of
adrenaline, dopamine and endorphines keeping me awake,

and sort of euphoric
,
and at the same time, still,
my head already full with todays

interview to come,
I was, speaking with John Daido Loori,
preoccupied with the past and the future,
and thus with what does not exist.
Really?
Anyway:
about 24 hours later.

Once again having a nice portion of
adrenaline, dopamine and endorphines keeping me awake,
and being sort of euphoric
,
I think it was still worth
to capture this very moment –
and thus conserve
a moment
of
the past
for
the future.
The peace of the night.
