Ces Gens Là

  1. A bit too misanthropic for me. The French Beckett...

As I said on Sam 104 (April 13, 2010): "Allume ta chandelle, Sammy."

Of course, here I would say:"Allume ta chandelle, Jacquot!"

  2. Jams,
    Indeed, he was.

    Claude,
so, you do think that both, Beckett and Brel disliked people and avoided social situations?

  3. Are you kidding? It was a pose! They needed people very, very much....Who else would have listened to them moan about life? And made them famous?

I'm talking about what they expressed with their art. Never about their private lives. Who will ever know a person's private agony?

  4. Claude,
sounds as if you understand they moaned about life per se.

So you mean those making films about human beings living or rather vegetating on the dark side of life, those who in poems attack evil individuals, and those who sing about injustice do so to become famous?

    Ha ha ha!!
